What Does Water Extraction Cost?
Typical water extraction and drying jobs across the country run from roughly $1,300 to $5,600, and clean-water losses often price near $3 to $7 per square foot. Sewage, large floods and jobs where walls must open cost more.
- Small clean-water spill: $900 to $2,800. One room or a hallway, Category 1 water, found quickly and dried in place.
- Several rooms or a basement: $2,800 to $7,500. Heavy extraction, pad removal, flood cuts and a few days of drying machines.
- Sewage or Category 3 water: $3,500 to $11,000. Containment, protective gear, removal of soaked porous materials and antimicrobial treatment.
- Whole-house flood or major loss: $9,000 to $30,000+. Deep water, many rooms opened and a long dry-down.
What changes the price
- How many square feet and how many floors the water reached
- The water category: clean supply water, gray appliance water or Category 3 sewage and flood water
- The materials soaked, such as hardwood, plaster, a finished basement or packed insulation
- How soon extraction began and how much drywall, ceiling or flooring had to be opened
